Infosys CEO Salil Parekh<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>Infosys<\/a> CEO Salil Parekh said that the company did not support dual employment reiterating the company’s stance on the practice of employees moonlighting<\/a>, or working on gigs which could be in conflict with their work at Infosys.

He said that the company already had a platform which allowed employees to do internal gig work on internal projects. “We've set up over the last several years, not now not last week, over the last several years, a platform which we call Accelerate to which employees can look at what we call internally gig work different projects outside of the main work,” said Parekh.

He said on average over 4,000 people apply for this each quarter, with about 600 being selected to work on another project that was active within the company. “We support the aspirations of our employees to learn beyond their work. We will support them to work on certain big projects after the prior approval of the managers,” said Parekh.

He added that the company was developing more comprehensive policies for that, while ensuring that contractual and confidentiality commitments were fully respected.

In the last few months, most
IT<\/a> services companies have taken a tough stance on the practice of employees moonlighting, with cross-town rival Wipro<\/a> letting go off 300 employees for working for competition.

Earlier this week,
TCS<\/a>, Wipro and HCL Tech<\/a> said that while they had no issue with employees pursuing other projects in their free time, they viewed moonlighting as unethical.
