NEW DELHI: State-run telco Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has reduced the validity of Rs 1,499 to 365 days or about one year from the original validity of 395 days, reported TelecomTalk.

The plan was originally launched in August this year as a promotional offer. It offers 24GB of data and an unlimited voice calling benefit capped at 250 minutes per day. Users will have to pay per base tariff price for additional use. The BSNL Rs 1,499 prepaid plan also offers 100 free SMSes per day.

This plan by BSNL competes directly with Airtel and Vodafone Idea<\/a>\u2019s similarly priced plans. However, the state-run telco's prepaid plan falls short of benefits offered as against the benefits provided by the competing plans by the rival telcos.

<\/div><\/div>Vodafone Idea\u2019s Rs 1,499 prepaid plan offers 2GB per month or a total of 24GB of data and carries a validity of 365 days. Additionally, it provides benefits such as unlimited voice calling, 3600 free SMSes throughout the validity duration, and a subscription to ZEE5 and Vodafone Play.
