BENGALURU<\/a>: TCS<\/a> has won a multi-year IT outsourcing deal<\/a> from the BT Group<\/a>\u2019s digital unit to modernise and transform its legacy IT estate. Sources said the contract is worth nearly \u00a3250 million (Rs 2,500 crore).
TCS did not comment on the size of the contract, while BT's spokesperson said, \u201cWe are not disclosing the deal value. We do not recognise the numbers you have.\u201d BT, in a statement, said the new deal will ramp down over 70% of the digital unit\u2019s legacy technology estate. The deal simplifies and restructures the digital unit\u2019s existing supplier relationships to deliver an annualised \u00a365 million saving by the end of the 2025 financial year, contributing to BT Group's ambition to deliver \u00a33 billion in gross annualised savings across the same timeframe, the statement said. This saving is expected to grow to \u00a3145 million a year by 2027. The programme is to boost the digital unit\u2019s capacity and focus to build its new strategic technology architecture faster, supporting the group\u2019s growth.
