With the new app, Vodafone Idea<\/a> will help it compete with Reliance Jio<\/a> and Bharti Airtel<\/a> which have JioSaavn<\/a> and Wynk apps, respectively. Gaana<\/a>, Spotify and Youtube Music are other leading music in the market.

The top executive said the music app will have a content recommendation engine that will learn the user’s tastes over time and accordingly make suggestions on what the user may want to listen to next.

\"The partner will bring a rich repository of music across genres in 15 Indian languages,\" Takkar said.

He said that the app will be \"comparable and better, in many senses, than the current services available in the country\".

The launch will happen in the coming days and weeks, he said.

The telecom operator currently has a free video streaming service called VI Movies<\/a> and TV.
