Nelco<\/a> is in advanced talks with Canadian company Telesat<\/a> to launch fast satellite broadband services in India. Telesat<\/a>’s Lightspeed brand will put it in direct competition with Bharti Airtel-backed OneWeb<\/a>, Amazon’s Project Kuiper and Elon Musk’s SpaceX.
The user base of satellite communication in India is expected to increase to about 1.5-2 million by 2025, clocking revenue of nearly Rs 5,000-6,000 crore annually, if the operating environment eases, said an Icra report.
Kishore Ostwal of CNI Research<\/a> is very bullish on the counter. It is the only defence play from the Tata Group<\/a>. \"The government will prefer companies with strong parentage for their defence sector related partnerships.\"
The company reported a net profit of Rs 4.38 crore for the quarter ended June, 2021, 140 per cent higher than Rs 1.38 crore reported for the same period in the previous year.
Income from operations rose 11 per cent to Rs 55.1 crore in the Q1FY22 from Rs 49.52 crore in the year ago period. The company delivered flat performance on a sequential basis.
Neclo has reported a strong set of numbers in the June 2021 quarter and some big institutions have also been seen increasing their stakes in the company, said Ashis Biswas at CapitalVia Global Research.
The company said it has established itself as a leading player in both Aero IFC and Maritime communication services in India. It has partnered with multiple global players to enhance its offerings and reach.
\"The multifold increase in the company’s business and the business alignment with the technological advancements will help the core business to grow in the future,\" said Biswas who has a target of 515 on the stock.
The company is bidding for multiple government contracts. If they are able to bag some, the visibility for the counter will increase, said Ostwal who has a short-term target of Rs 600 on this stock.
However, not everyone is gung ho on the stock. Some analysts have a word of caution.
“The sector has a lot of potential but investors are being far too optimistic of the company's prospects,\" said Rahul Shah, Co-Head of Research, EquityMaster. “At the current P\/E the valuations seem to be running far too ahead of the fundamentals,\" he added.
