Soon after the Union government notified Indian Telegraph Right of Way Rules<\/a>, 2016 and the state government unveiled its own Telecom Infrastructure policy<\/a> in 2022, a large number of communications relating to establishing, strengthening and monitoring of telecom infrastructure were received from telecom and internet service providers, apex bodies of cellular and telecom infrastructure operators and the department of telecommunications.
\"This resulted in a multi-fold increase of records and connected papers, besides putting hardship in monitoring of implemented telecom projects and resolving the disputes and grievances of TSPs\/IPs,\" said an order.
The grievance redressal officer will look into all matters relating to the issue of Right of Way for telecom infrastructure underground (cables)\/overhead (towers). Grievances, issues, queries, modification\/integration\/increasing server space\/speed of single window RoW portal, integrating popular payment gateways, integrating with GatiShakti Sanchar portal of department of telecommunication through Application Programming Interface (API), enabling 5G applications will also be addressed.
The officer will also address issues relating to use of Call Before-U-Dig mobile application, and those relating to Right of Way, telecom infrastructure, single window clearance portal and relating to 5G roll-out, the order said.
