Shares of Vindhya Telelinks<\/a> (up 12.94 per cent), Optiemus Infracom<\/a> (up 5.0 per cent), Reliance Communications<\/a> (up 4.8 per cent), GTL Infrastructure (up 3.95 per cent) and OnMobile Global (up 3.62 per cent) were among the top gainers.
While HFCL Ltd (down 3.45 per cent), Vodafone Idea (down 1.56 per cent), Mahanagar Telephone Nigam<\/a> (down 0.43 per cent) and Tejas Network (down 0.07 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
The S&P BSE Telecom index was trading 0.37 per cent up at 1238.3 around 12:58PM.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 68.75 points at 11315.85, while the BSE Sensex was up 210.11 points at 38260.89.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Alok Industries<\/a>, Ashok Leyland and NTPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
