NEW DELHI: Bharti-backed OneWeb<\/a>, the low-earth orbit (LEO) satellite communications<\/a> (satcom<\/a>) company Wednesday said it has launched 34 satellites more from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, bringing its total in-orbit constellation to 322 satellites.
This is nearly half of the entire OneWeb\u2019s 648 LEO satellite fleet that will deliver high-speed, low-latency satellite broadband globally.
\u201cLiftoff occurred on 14 September at 7:07pm BST. OneWeb\u2019s satellites separated from the rocket and were dispensed in nine batches after 3 hours 45 minutes into the flight, with signal acquisition on all 34 satellites confirmed. With this launch, Arianespace<\/a> also celebrates passing the mark of 1,000 satellites successfully launched to space,\u201d OneWeb said in an officia statement.
