Route Mobile<\/a> last November raised Rs 867.49 crore from a mix of domestic and international investors including Steadview Capital Mauritius, RBC Asia Pacific Ex-Japan Equity Fund, Kuber India Fund, and others. Of this, a portion of the amount will be invested towards setting up the new R&D centre.

“The idea of generating this money is to use it in multiple ways. One is to improve our geographical presence. We are entering into many countries in the APAC market, in European markets… We recently made an acquisition in LATAM America, in the Middle East market. Second, consolidating product portfolio, activation of companies which will bring new services to our portfolio,”
Tushar Agnihotri<\/a>, Country Head India and Regional Head for Asia-Pacific of Route Mobile, told ETTelecom.

“We have acquired some space in Bangalore and are in the early stages of setup right now. We are in the process of consolidating the tech teams together under one roof, which will also become our knowledge hub for Route Mobile,” he said, without divulging further details.
