\"Rakuten<\/figure>NEW DELHI: Japanese telco Rakuten Mobile<\/a> said its 5G<\/a> network has achieved a throughput of 1.77Gbps on Altiostar<\/a>\u2019s Open RAN network.

Altiostar is a US-based company that provides Open vRAN network technology and has previously partnered with India\u2019s Bharti Airtel<\/a> for deploying Open vRAN solution.

The 5G network leverages massive MIMO and millimeter wave (mmWave) radios and covers both sub-6 GHz and mmWave frequency bands.

<\/div><\/div>Altiostar worked closely with Qualcomm Technologies<\/a>, Inc., Airspan, and Rakuten Mobile on innovation in mmWave radios based on Qualcomm 5G RAN platforms, with the disaggregation of hardware and software to deliver a better Quality of Service.

Additionally, Altiostar collaborated with NEC and Rakuten Mobile to introduce to the 5G network the sub-6 GHz massive MIMO radios.
