Inmarsat said the LEO satellite is testing new concepts and systems configurations for the Orchestra LEO constellation which will seamlessly integrate with the geosynchronous orbit (GEO) and highly elliptical orbit (LEO), as well as a terrestrial 5G network<\/a> to deliver ubiquitous and integrated connectivity for mobility and government customers.
Though the company has not divulged specifics of in-orbit testing, it said that LEO satellite payload is testing concepts for LEO-to-ground and LEO-to-GEO communications. \u201cAs the LEO satellite features a reprogrammable payload, additional concepts will be tested over the coming months,\u201d it said.
