Care Ratings Limited<\/a> (CARE), has upgraded its rating on Long Term Bank Facilities<\/a> and Non-Convertible Debentures for Vodafone Idea<\/a> (Vi) to \"Stable<\/a>\" outlook.
The agency had given the telco<\/a> a CARE B- (Credit Watch with Negative Implications) for Long Term Bank Facilities and Non-Convertible Debentures but now upgraded both to CARE B+ (Outlook : Stable).
These changes come on the back of Vi opting for a four-year moratorium on statutory payouts towards adjusted gross revenue (AGR) and spectrum dues and taking a decision to convert the interest from the deferred spectrum to 35.8% government equity.
The deferment has allowed Vi to save up to Rs 1 lakh crore in cash flows cumulatively improving its financials and allowing the telco to invest in capex.

Vi, which is expected to close its fund raising effort by March end has assured that it will be a professionally-run company, even if the government takes the stake.
In a recent analyst call, the telco's management said that it has \"seen renewed interest from investors\" post the reform roll outs. The senior leadership also informed that post accepting the moratorium, the payment for airwaves bought in March 2021 will start in FY24 but payment of dues to banks etc will continue
Vi's net loss for the fiscal third quarter widened to Rs 7,234.1 crore from Rs 7,144.6 crore in the preceding three months, as operating and interest expenses rose. The carrier also once again lost customers—5.8 million in the December-end quarter. The telco with 247.2 million subscribers saw a modest 0.8 million adds in its 4G subscribers but overall data subscribers dipped by 0.9 million sequentially.
