Apple iPhone 12 Pro<\/a> will be equipped with the same LiDAR depth camera lens that is found in this year\u2019s iPad Pro<\/a>, as per a report by Fast Company. The report quotes people with the knowledge of the company\u2019s plans.

The Cupertino-based tech giant is planning to use the Sony technology specifically in the iPhone 12 Pro\/ Pro Max. \u201cManufactured by Sony, this lidar system<\/a> uses pulses of light to precisely measure the distances of objects from the camera lens,\u201d says the report.

With the help of the LiDAR lens, Apple hopes to have more accurate autofocus and clearer distinction between background and foreground, which will help in having improved portrait mode shots. The depth camera is also supposed to help AR applications put \u201cdigital objects in real environments more realistically\u201d, says the report. Apple introduced this technology to the 2020 iPad Pro launched in April this year.

<\/div><\/div>Apple is expected to launch four new iPhones under the iPhone 12 series in October. As per earlier reports, the iPhone 12 Pro will offer a refresh rate of 120Hz ProMotion display, a 3x rear camera zoom and an improved Face ID. This has been claimed by Max Weinbach who disclosed this to EveryThingApple Pro.

The report further claims that the iPhone 12 Pro model will come in two screen sizes: 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch. Both are expected to offer the 120Hz refresh rate as seen on the Pad Pro. The report claims that the display will be able to shift dynamically in order to save the battery as per requirement. To support all this power consumption, the iPhone 12 Pro is also expected to house a large battery too of 4400mAh

An earlier report by Bloomberg claims that Apple is gearing up to redesign its flagship iPhone models \u201cas part of a major fall refresh.\u201d This year\u2019s iPhones may come with a reduced notch. \u201cApple is investigating removing the cutout at the top of the display for the selfie camera and Face ID sensors in future designs, and it\u2019s likely to reduce that notch in size with this year\u2019s models,\u201d says the report.
