The payments bank arm of telco Bharti Airtel<\/a> said in a statement that the facility will be made available across all its 500,000 banking points by the end of this year.

“The new facility will help Business Correspondents (BCs) of the bank to open an account just by undertaking face authentication e-KYC,” Airtel Payments<\/a> Bank said.

It added that the authentication is processed using a mobile application developed by the Unique Identification Authority of India<\/a> (UIDAI<\/a>), and as a result, the business correspondent will only need a smartphone to open an account.

All customers with 5G smartphones will be able to enjoy the high-speed Airtel 5G Plus on their existing data plans. Additionally, Airtel said its existing 4G SIM comes 5G-enabled.<\/p><\/div>
