\"WhatsApp New Delhi: A year after launching its WhatsApp Business app<\/a> for businesses to communicate with their customers, Facebook<\/a> owned messaging giant WhatsApp<\/a> has reported its India revenues<\/a> for the first time for fiscal year 2019.

Documents filed with the Registrar of Companies<\/a> (RoC) show WhatsApp, which is currently awaiting approvals from regulatory authorities for its payments service, reported revenues of Rs 6.84 crore for fiscal 2019 and a profit of Rs 57 lakh for the financial year under review.

About a million businesses in India are currently using the WhatsApp buisness app to communicate and exchange information with their customers.

<\/div><\/div>In its financial statements, WhatsApp stated the company had started its operations and attributed the revenues to its IT enabled business processes outsourcing services. The company had not reported any revenues for fiscal 2018 and stated it incurred expenses of Rs 5 lakh for fiscal 2018. During fiscal 2019, Anne Hoge Milliken resigned as a director of the company in April 2019 and the company appointed Ashish Chandra, its associate general counsel (GC) India as additional director in September 2019.

Equity and liabilities for the company, which listed Facebook Inc USA as its ultimate holding company, WhatsApp Inc as its holding company, and Facebook India Online Services as its fellow subsidiary stood at Rs 5.9 crore. Equity and liabilities included trade payables like total outstanding dues of micro and small enterprises.
