Trai修订了电信公司的收入报告格式，以反映AGR的新定义

<\/figure>Kolkata: The sector regulator has revised the format for submission of quarterly revenue and usage data by telcos and directed the latter to include their applicable gross revenue (ApGR) numbers required under the amended unified licence agreement.Just over a year ago, the Department of Telecommunications<\/a> (DoT<\/a>) had revised the definition of adjusted gross revenue<\/a> (AGR), and introduced the concept of ApGR, which is determined by excluding all non-telecom revenue earned by telcos from their gross revenue (GR). Thereafter, AGR is determined from ApGR by further removing more non-telecom service-related items, including roaming revenue passed onto other eligible\/entitled telecommunication services providers.
\u201c..the DoT has amended the unified licence agreement, wherein the format of 'statement of revenue' and license fee' for access services has been revised and the term ApGR included before AGR, and accordingly, the Authority has decided to revise the formats for submitting the report on revenue and usage,\u201d the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India<\/a> (Trai<\/a>) said in a direction to all telcos on Tuesday.
<\/div><\/div>It added that under its powers under Section 13, read with sub-clause (i) of clause (b) of sub-section (1) of Section 11, of TRAI Act, 1997, it has directed telecom service providers<\/a> to submit quarterly reports on revenue and usage in the revised format.
Such reports, it said, would have to be submitted within 45 days from the end of each quarter, excepting the fiscal fourth quarter when the report may be submitted within 60 days from the end of the quarter in the revised format for both wireless and wireline services.
Regulatory levies such as licence fees and spectrum usage charge (SUC) are paid quarterly based on AGR. Hence, a lower AGR would mean reduced payouts by telcos towards such levies.
Telcos annually pay 8% of their AGR as licence fees to the government. SUC currently is around 3-4% of the AGR.
But in late-June, the DoT scrapped the 3% floor on SUC, which will sharply reduce telcos future outflows towards this statutory fee.
As spectrum acquired from the recent 5G auction<\/a> onwards won\u2019t attract SUC, telcos\u2019 overall SUC payout is likely to plunge to under 1% of AGR.
